AS9100D/ISO9001:2015 Certification

Essex Industries has received notification from BSI that its AS9100D/ISO9001:2015 accreditation has been approved.  This certification will be in effect until February 27, 2020, contingent upon successful completion of annual surveillance audits.

AS9100D is a quality management standard for organizations that design and manufacture products for the aerospace industry including parts, components and assemblies.  ISO9001 is an international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system, or QMS.

This certification applies to all four Essex facilities and covers Platform Controls, Aircraft Components, Liquid Oxygen Equipment and Emergency Breathing Equipment.

We’re Moving!

Within the next few months, Essex operations at the Carr Lane Court location will be relocating to our Chivvis facility.  This consolidation project includes a complete facility upgrade with state-of-the-art manufacturing along with a major investment in new equipment.

Preparations for this event have been underway for months to ensure that no changes or delays in service, production or shipping occur during the transition.

Once the move occurs, our manufacturing and support staff currently at Carr Lane Court will be located at 8007 Chivvis Drive, Saint Louis, MO 63123.

Essex corporate offices will remain at 7700 Gravois and we will continue our manufacturing operations at the Sunnen facility.

Updates will be posted on our website, LinkedIn and Facebook pages, so check back for the latest information.

Essex Industries selected by Airbus as approved Supplier for PBEs

Protective Breathing Equipment

Essex Industries has been selected as an approved supplier of Protective Breathing Equipment (PBE) for the Airbus series of commercial airliners including the newest A320 NEO single-aisle aircraft.
With this approval, Essex PBE products are now included in the Airbus Seller-Furnished Equipment (SFE) Options Catalog, which allows customers to select and specify Essex PBEs as standard equipment onboard as-delivered aircraft.

The Essex PBE provides crewmembers with ocular, head and respiratory protection during emergency conditions in an aircraft cabin. A minimum of 15 minutes of protection is provided to the wearer, as aviator’s grade oxygen is released into the unit.  Its unique design provides 270° of visibility and eliminates the need for an oral/nasal mask so that crewmembers can communicate while wearing the unit. The PBE holds FAA TSO-C116 and TSO-C99 approvals as well as CAA, EASA, CAAC and ANAC approvals. Recognized for their safe design, Essex PBE units are installed in the majority of U.S. airlines and a number of carriers throughout the world.
