LOX DRAIN VALVES

LOX Drain Valves are designed for use with the Air Force and Navy liquid oxygen converters.  The drain valve allows the LOX system on-board an aircraft to be completely drained.

LOX QUICK DISCONNECT COUPLING

The LOX Quick Disconnect Coupling allows for the rapid disconnect and connection of aircraft LOX converters to enable servicing.  This self-sealing coupling is designed in accordance with MIL-C-21049.

HYDRAULIC PULSATION DAMPENERS

Hydraulic Pulsation Dampeners (or attenuators) are designed to reduce fluid pressure pulsations generated by aircraft hydraulic pumps. These pulsations can lead to system damage through check valve failure, tubing or hose rupture, loosened connections and cracked manifolds.  In addition to the potential for system failure, hydraulic pressure pulsations can dramatically increase noise levels within the aircraft cabin.  Unlike nitrogen-charged “muffler” devices, Essex hydraulic pulsation dampeners contain no moving parts and require no servicing. Constructed of high-strength 15-5PH hardened steel, these units are subjected to non-destructive tests prior to shipment.

GASEOUS OXYGEN QUICK DISCONNECT COUPLING

The Gaseous Oxygen Quick Disconnect Coupling allows for the rapid disconnect and connection of aircraft LOX converters to enable servicing.  This coupling is designed in accordance with MIL-C-21049.

FUEL EJECTOR PUMP

This Fuel Ejector Pump features an integral check valve which prevents fuel from draining back into the tank when the system shuts down.  The inlet fitting on the pump is designed for a 5/8″ line, with the outlet port sized for a 1″ line.  The fuel ejector pump has a 94% efficiency.

FLAME ARRESTORS

Flame Arrestors are designed to allow for the venting of fuel vapors while preventing external flames or other ignition sources from entering the fuel lines and supply. Essex flame arrestors are installed in all Boeing commercial aircraft, as well as a number of regional aircraft.

F-15 BORESIGHT REFERENCE UNIT

The F-15 Boresight Reference Unit is an optical alignment device that is mounted on the upper right side of the F-15 instrument panel. The BRU works in conjunction with the Joint Helmet-Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS) and allows the Weapon Systems Officer (WSO) to align his or her aiming reticle, projected on the helmet visor, with the aircraft’s targeting sensors. This capability allows both crew members to track and lock on to targets simultaneously, particularly with high off-boresight weapons.

BORESIGHT REFERENCE UNIT

The Boresight Reference Unit is an optical alignment device that is mounted on the upper right side of the F-15 and F-18 instrument panel.

AVIONICS COOLING BLOWER

The Avionics Cooling Blower is a high-capacity, high velocity, coaxial fan designed to pull cool air into and through an avionics bay to prevent the electronics from over-heating.  This unit is currently installed on the OH-58 helicopter.

ATFLIR ELECTRONICS TRAY AND COCKPIT PANEL

The ATFLIR Electronics Tray is the “brains” of the Advanced Targeting Forward-Looking Infrared System installed in the F/A-18 Hornet. When activated through the cockpit panel, the system allows for imagery from the aircraft’s infrared sensor to be transmitted to a ground-based unit. This high-resolution, real-time communication allows for precision targeting and strike capabilities, as well as reduced collateral damage.
